Lymphatic Drainage, 3 ways

Updated: Dec 30, 2021

For many women, including Kim Kardashian and Bella Hadid, the secret to a sculpted set of abs sits at the other end of a lymphatic drainage massage. The new it treatment is more popular than ever and with so many options to choose from, it's hard to decide what to do. We hear about dry brushing, gua sha and rollers; but without the correct techniques, you may just be getting a great self-care moment and no results. Here I'm breaking down three of my favourite ways to stimulate lymphatic health and fight the bloat.

Exercise

You already knew it was coming... exercise is one of the best ways to keep your lymphatic system in top shape. And I'm not just talking about hard, sweaty workouts that we only dream about from our couch. Any kind of movement is good to keep your lymph moving and your whole body drained.

When we move, the muscle contractions stimulate our lymphatic vessels and help the liquids move around. So, add lymphatic health to the list of reasons to work out, dance, move, jump. And speaking of jumping...

Rebounding

Every single one of my clients I recommend this to, laughs. And who wouldn't? Bouncing on a trampoline sounds like something your kid or your nephew would do, but not you. However, rebounding is wonderful for lymphatic health, not to mention fun and low impact. The up-and-down motion of jumping on a trampoline shakes up the stagnant liquid in our bodies and is said to increase endorphins. If you decide to try rebounding, I recommend you buy a weight-rated trampoline. After all, we all weigh a couple pounds more than Jr.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

If you're looking for the relaxing way out of one too many pumpkin spice lattes, then a Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage is the answer. Lymphatic drainage massage involves stimulating the lymph nodes and moving stagnant fluid to where it can be eliminated from the body. It's highly relaxing and can lower cortisol levels. Over time, lymphatic massages boosts your immune system and keeps cellular waste to a minimum.

During our Brazilian lymphatic drainage session we focus on reducing water retention and improving your body's elimination processes so you can continue to feel the health benefits of it for days to come.

Just keep in mind, each body is different and aftercare is essential to maintain your results. We'll take a deep dive into lymphatic drainage aftercare in the coming days. For now, have a glass of water and go for a walk.

Lena
